Janet Buck has specialized in the design and construction of affordable and supported housing. She has recently become a LEED accredited professional as well, and is enthusiastic about pursuing sustainable design goals in all project types. Projects include the award-winning Brookline Family Housing, Ruth Cowin House and Bishop House - all affordable housing projects with a special needs component. She was Project Architect for the renovation of the E Building of the former
Janet received her B.A. from
Julia Smith brings an expertise in healthcare design to the firm. She was Project Architect for the award-winning Kirk Sharfenberg House for Children with AIDS in
Julia attended
James McAvoy specializes in the firm's facilities rehabilitation and renovation projects. He brings a strong practical background in construction and is a licensed Massachusetts Construction Supervisor. Mr. McAvoy has served as Project Architect for the Massport Residential Sound Insulation and Noise Mitigation Program and has overseen the acoustic treatment of close to 300 individual units of housing. He has also been responsible for renovations and upgrades to a wide variety buildings for the Public Facilities Department of Boston and numerous public housing authorities.
Jim received his professional degree from the Architectural Association of London.
